Months ago, the spring sprung with flowers blooming and the sunshine running amok. I never realized that it was so fleeting, that one day the birds would stop singing and the butterflies would stop dancing on dandelions. I never stopped to think that the gentle breeze that flew between my fingers would disappear and a deep chill would surround me. I miss the soft clouds that glide so gently above all of us would be replaced by such a dark presence that cast a deep and ominous shadow. I never realized the beauty of what I had in front of me before it had all but vanished. I miss the springtime.
All wars are planned by older men
In council rooms apart,
Who call for greater armament
And map the battle chart.
But out along the shattered field
Where golden dreams turn gray,
How very young the faces were
Where all the dead men lay.
Portly and solemn in their pride,
The elders cast their vote
For this or that, or something else,
That sounds the martial note.
But where their sightless eyes stare out
Beyond life’s vanished toys,
I’ve noticed nearly all the dead
Were hardly more than boys.
I have never understood why people go out of their way to be negative. If you don’t like something so be it, but don’t go out of your way and purposefully be negative. What I’m griping about here is when people have a distaste or dislike for someone, and they see an article written about that person, they don’t avoid it like a sane person would do, they find the article, read it and then post a comment to show how much they hate him or her. I also hate it when people read certain articles and then post a comment on how much they hate the author or his articles. We all live in a free society, if you don’t like someones work, DON’T READ IT, its as simple as that.

This can be true for those that watch shows and then posts comments on why they hate the host. It can also be true in real life as well, if there’s some skank or douchebag you dislike, avoid them like the plague please, no drama is necessary. I hate Rush Limbaugh but do I go on his site and posts nasty messages on his blogs, or call into his radio show to show my disdain for his moronic points of view? NO. If you dislike someone, just avoid the person altogether without going out of your way to show such hatred.
One final thing, if you are one of those idiots that comment “first” on the comment portion of editorials, punch yourself in the face, thanks.

Roy Ashburn a Republican representative from central California came out of the closet today after allegations of drunk driving last week after coming from a gay bar. It wouldn’t be that much of an issue if it weren’t for his political stance on homosexuality and gay marriage. Ashburn is a staunch opponent of gay rights, often voting against anti-discrimination laws and recognizing out-of-state gay marriages. Not only is he an opponent of gay rights, he has voted against every single piece of legislation that promotes gay rights or any form of equality for homosexuals.
Ashburn felt that his opposition to gay rights was a reflection of his constituents back home, but without being honest with the people back home how representative can he be? Ashburn came across as something completely polar opposite of who he actually is. So even if he was trying represent his constituency the best he could and never betrayed their trust, he betrayed himself, his soul and ever fiber of his being by living a life of lies.
the following is my post to a friends blog, and i felt it entirely apropos to my current discussion:
“people with small minds and other small parts like to compensate in other aspects of their lives [voting against gay rights]. maybe he [ashburn] secretly has homosexual tendencies and want to prove to himself as well as others about his own masculinity…”

I was with my family at a restaurant. Everything seems to be really great. People are joking and having fun. Then I look into my phone, and I tried to look for her number to call her to come, but I couldn’t find it. I then woke up and I realized we aren’t together anymore. One of the saddest realizations I have ever had.

and things turn out well, for the both of us.
The lyrics come from breakeven- by the script and the song perfectly describes my feelings about a situation I am currently in. The song or what I can draw from it tells about a guy who cares a lot for this care free girl, maybe a little too much. When things go bad in this relationship, it is he who suffers more, it is he who feels the pain of breaking up and the loneliness it entails. Although my situation isn’t as dire or dramatic as this song describes but it describes where I currently am mentally. Being the one that feels that you have more invested in a relationship is a bit unnerving. Obviously it is best when a couple share the responsibility of being in a relationship, but does that ever really happen? As the song states, a heart does not breakeven, even if it has not broken yet.
